ROYAL BRISBANE & WOMEN'S HOSPITAL STROKE FELLOWSHIP

In 2007, Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital offers a Stroke Fellowship position. The person will work with Dr Stephen Read, Dr Robert Henderson and Dr John O’Sullivan in the RBWH Stroke Unit which sees 200-250 stroke inpatients per year and a similar number of outpatients. The position of Stroke Fellow works within a multidisciplinary team that includes a stroke registrar and resident medical officer. A key component of the job is research with involvement in a number of clinical trials, basic research and existing research projects including autonomic mechanisms. The position offers exposure to thrombolysis, acute treatment and rehabilitation. The position would suit an advanced trainee in Neurology, Geriatrics or General Medicine, or a physician who has recently completed their training in one of these specialties who wishes to gain further experience in Stroke Medicine.
