Staff Specialist Neurologist – Department of Medicine, Nambour General Hospital, Sunshine Coast and Cooloola Health Service District , QLD .
Remuneration value up to $340,850 p.a., comprising salary between $125,472 - $159, 081 p.a (f/t) or salary rates: $60.11-$76.22 p.h. (p/t), employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%).
Level: L18 – L27 (full time or part time position, hours negotiable).
The Nambour General Hospital is a Teaching Hospital for both the University of Queensland and the University of The Sunshine Coast . It has 320 beds and is currently the main referral hospital for the Sunshine Coast and Cooloola Health Service District which extends from Noosa and Gympie in the North, through to Caloundra in the South. The District is situated one hour from Brisbane and currently has a population of 330,000 that is projected to grow to 430,000 over the next 10 years. To address this growth the main referral hospital will relocate to a new 450 bed facility , at Kawana , opening in 2015 .
There is a wide spectrum of interesting cases , including acute presentations . Funding is available for new Neurological diagnostic equipment . Nambour General Hospital has an onsite MRI scanner. A comprehensive range of supporting specialities is also available at NGH and on the Sunshine Coast.
The position will involve direct clinical supervision of Neurology patients, participation in the Stroke Unit, Consultation Services to other clinical areas within the Sunshine and Cooloola Health Service District and involvement with both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. Development of special clinical or research interests will be encouraged.
